Odysseys team is working on new kernel exploits Jailbreak tool for iOS 15/15.1 may be released soon

Apple makes it difficult for developers and hackers to crack iOS or iPadOS firmware for a potential jailbreak. With Apple looking to control the software, hackers are trying to find a flaw in the kernel that can be exploited to give the effect of a jailbreak. Now, a hacker @b1n4r1b01 has revealed a potential vulnerability for iOS 15 to iOS 15.1.1, and if it is confirmed, we may soon see a jailbreak for iOS 15 to iOS 15.1.1.

Not much is known about the vulnerability at this time, which is believed to originate primarily from Brightiup’s CVE-2021-30955 kernel vulnerability, and it’s too early to speculate on the time frame for a potential jailbreak release.

CoolStar, the head of the Odysseys team, was already one of the first developers to be given the opportunity to share a potential jailbreak. CoolStar notes that the semi-jailbreak for iOS and iPad OS 15 will run unrooted due to SSV protection, which means many jailbreak parameters must be updated to function. The good news is that the Odyssey team’s libhooker tweaker injection method has enabled jailbreak tools to support iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

CoolStar also mentioned that the team won’t be releasing any tools for iOS 14, and all attention is on iOS 5 and iPadOS 15. With CoolStar working on new iOS 15 exploits, and the Checkra1n team investigating iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 support in other ways, we may soon see iOS 15 to iOS 15.1.1 jailbreaks in action.

The time frame has not been mentioned by the team so far, and the jailbreak team needs time to develop the required tools.
