Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a fabulous display for DxOMark

Let’s start with one of the strengths of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, namely its 6.8-inch AMOLED 2X LTPO display at QHD + resolution, with an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. The score given by DxOMark is 93 points, which brings the smartphone to third place in the overall ranking on a par with Huawei P50 Pro and iPhone 13. These two are only surpassed by the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which even go to 98 and 99 points.

Pros include the high level of brightness in sunlight, the video experience with good levels of brightness, contrast and color management, as well as smooth interactions in web browsing and gallery. In the “cons” the site inserts the strong alteration of the image under the sunlight, some discrepancies in the frames during the use of mobile games, and the lack of “softness” in the light transactions.

The partial scores are as follows:

  • Readability: 76
  • Colors: 81
  • Video: 91
  • Movement: 74
  • Touch: 57
  • Artifacts: 78

Good audio, but the top of the ranking is “far away”

As for the audio sector, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra offers two speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos. The smartphone records a score of 71 points on DxOMark, which makes it worth the 20th place in the general ranking on a par with Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and iPhone 11.

It is a only point above Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S21 FE (70). The top of the ranking is mainly occupied by gaming smartphones, including Black Shark 4S Pro, Black Shark 4 Pro, and ASUS ROG Phone 5, flanked by HONOR Magic3 Pro + and Xiaomi Mi 10S.

The score is “divided” between 71 points for playback and 72 for recording: among the pros we find the excellent general performances almost free of artifacts and the maximum volume, while among the counter a sound balance focused on the mid-range, a little ‘lack of sharpness and some problems in the reproduction of some contents at the minimum volume level.
