Reddit bans all links to Russian state-backed RT and Sputnik

Reddit now explicitly prohibits its users from posting links globally to Russian state-backed media outlets, including RT and Sputnik. This may be the most specific denial of these channels to date.

In a blog post, Reddit said it was already rejecting “ads directed at Russia or from any Russian entity, government or private person,” noting that some subreddit moderators had blocked links to Russian state media on their own, and that, It also said it was paying to help and house some of its staff in Ukraine.

Reddit appears to acknowledge that Russian military action against Ukraine will be an ongoing management challenge, though it says the company has established a process that allows moderators to escalate concerns directly to the Reddit team.
