Sony shipped a mysterious PlayStation console weighing nearly 700 kilograms (about 1,500 pounds). The package consisted of four CTNs (Carton Boxes) and it was shipped from the UK to Norfolk, Virginia. Mailing slips indicated that the packages were prototypes of video game consoles.
But it’s unclear what exactly these mysterious PlayStation consoles are? As Tweak Town mentioned, there are no known Sony operations in Norfolk, Virginia. However, Sony has some Sony service centers in the region.
Since HS code #981700 is listed on the mailing list, it is speculated that it may be related to the game console part tubing. But Virginia may just be a transit point for these packages. They may continue to their final destination by other means of travel.
All we know is that Sony is working on a PlayStation VR 2. The company recently revealed the product’s name, so they’ve built some prototypes or development kits to send out to early testers.
