Fallout 76: You thought he was dead, but Bethesda has long-term plans

It was 2018 when Fallout 76 debuted to the public and few were sure that Bethesda would keep the title alive. The reception by the public and the press, in fact, was very critical and many hastened to decree his death. Today, almost 4 years after the original release, the development and publisher team has not only relaunched it but is planning real support almost as long as the Destiny series.

The design director Mark Tucker thought about revealing the support plans, in an interview with AusGamers on the occasion of the launch of Season 8 of Fallout 76. As stated by Tucker, at the moment in Bethesda very long support for the game is expected. We have long-term plans. Right now a lot of my time is spent developing and programming a roadmap that spans three to five years, ”said Tucker.

Clearly, the details regarding these roadmaps have not yet been disclosed and it is perfectly normal: to discover something more we will have to wait a few more months since all the elements and news must be properly tested before any announcement.

The support for Fallout 76, therefore, will go on at least until 2025, but probably in Bethesda’s plans, there is the intention to really go until 2027. This would mean obtaining more or less the same, identical result obtained by Bungie: with the Destiny series, in fact, the development team (now in the hands of Sony) has worked for 10 years on the series, with two main games, several expansions and much more.

Bethesda’s plans for Fallout 76 are decidedly ambitious and also represent a kind of redemption for the development team and the people involved in the making of the game. The start, in fact, was really uphill but fortunately, the title managed to relaunch. And to date, with the addition of the NPCs, the Brotherhood of Steel and many other features and gameplay components, the game is certainly incomparable to the one that debuted in 2018.
