Google Stadia 4.6 for Android prepares motion controls and more

Google Stadia 4.6 for Android is preparing all sorts of innovations behind the scenes in the code of the app. These include motion control, a customized touch gamepad and other things. The motion control is listed in the background as Device Motion.

According to 9to5Google, it should convert the movements of the smartphone into inputs in the game. For example, you tilt the smartphone to the right and a vehicle in a racing game also drives to the right – we already know that from some mobile games.

In addition, Stadia 4.6 mentions a version 2 (V2) touch gamepad. So you obviously want to go there again and overtake the surface. But this is more about minor tweaks to the font size and some icons.

In addition, developers should be given the opportunity to individually optimize the display of touch inputs for their titles. Google was probably inspired by Microsoft because the latter already offer this for their Xbox Game Pass on Android.

It also seems that Google wants to expand the streaming capabilities for live streams. At least in Stadia 4.6, there are new references to the viewers and the broadcaster. Unfortunately, it is still unclear what exactly could be implemented there. References to Enterprise functions are now also included. This also includes Enterprise Game IDs. This is probably aimed at developers who could use it to test games before launch.
