Tesla is now increasing the prices of the supercharger more regularly, which means that charging is becoming more and more expensive. In the summer of 2021, we were still talking about the move to 40 cents per kWh, now it will soon be 50 cents per kWh.
Prices vary from Supercharger to Supercharger, but the 45 cents per kWh (which we didn’t even report on) is history. Up to 49 cents per kWh are now possible, so Tesla did not want to crack 50 just yet.
There are certainly many reasons, but Tesla does not communicate this publicly. And with a view to the world situation, it can be assumed that the 50 cents per kWh will follow soon and that is not the end yet. If the world situation doesn’t ease up soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if we crack 60 cents in 2022.
