Apple’s M1 Ultra processor appears on Geekbench, 56% better than 28-core Intel Mac Pro

The first benchmark results of Apple’s M1 Ultra chip have appeared on Geekbench, confirming that the double M1 Max can indeed surpass the highest as claimed by Apple. end of the (Intel version) Mac Pro.

A Mac Studio (Mac13, 2) equipped with a 20-core M1 Ultra finally achieved a single-core score of 1793 and a multi-core score of 24055 in Geekbench 5.4.4. By comparison, the top-of-the-line Mac Pro with the 28-core Intel Xeon W chip scored 1152 in single-core and 19,951 in multi-core, so the M1 Ultra was 21 percent faster in multi-core performance in this particular benchmark comparison.

As for single-core performance, the M1 Ultra is about 56% faster than the 28-core Mac Pro. Apple claims the M1 Ultra is 60% faster than the 28-core Mac Pro when it comes to CPU performance, so the numbers Apple shared in today’s event are actually quoted as single-core performance differences.

Of course, this is just a simple benchmark test, and the performance of Arm and X86 is obviously not conclusive, but we can expect to see more tests on the M1 Ultra version of Mac Studio after March 18th.
