Google Pixel Feature Drop Update

Old Swede, there are a lot of new things to discover for #TeamPixel in the third month of the year. Google has released several really big updates, but we need to dig deeper into them first. How the new March system update was released could be confusing at first glance. This time it’s a security patch and Android update in one. We’ll tell you all the important details.

Google combines Android 12.1, March system update and feature drop

With this update, not only does the security patch level change for the Pixel smartphones, but also the Android version. There is a jump to the newer Android 12.1, which is also publicly known as Android 12L. It has primarily important innovations for tablets and foldable, but also small tweaks for smartphones. And lots and lots of bug fixes for the Pixel phones.

But that’s not all. Google also combines this with a new feature drop. Again, these are primarily updates that primarily affect the Google apps and less the system as a whole. It’s fair to say that March saw Google combine three major updates into one.

Bug fixes through Google System Updates

Updates to Google Play and Google Play services rolled out earlier this month as well. Many bug fixes are also integrated here, but they have nothing to do with the Android updates mentioned above. Nevertheless, these smaller updates also improve your devices and their functions.

A new beta for the next feature drop

Google then also surprised with another beta. From now on, feature drops will also be publicly tested in advance. For the next update coming in the summer, Google has released the first beta.

Feature Drop for Android

Last but not least, Google has also released an Android Feature Drop. It brings innovations in seven apps that Google is now gradually bringing to the devices.

Pixel 6 cell phone users once again have more time to read through all the changelogs. You’ll have to wait a little longer for Android 12.1 to roll out.
