Apple plans to launch 11/12.9-inch iPad Pro with OLED screen in 2024

According to a report released by Ross Young, co-founder and CEO of research firm Display Supply Chain Consultants, Apple plans to launch new iPad Pros with 11-inch and 12.9-inch OLED displays in the future.

Looking ahead to tablets in 2022, we expect Apple to change the category again with the introduction of the OLED iPad Pro, wrote Young. Although the mini-LED screen is currently only used for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and there is no mini-LED version of the 11-inch iPad Pro expected this year, Young believes that the OLED version will be available in two sizes.

Young cited a recent report from Korean website The Elec that LG will supply OLED displays for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros, while Samsung is also said to be planning to supply OLED displays for the 11-inch iPad Pro. According to the report, these iPad Pros are expected to launch in 2024.

IT House learned that Elec claims that the OLED display will be a low-power LTPO panel, allowing future iPad Pros to have a wider ProMotion refresh rate range between 10Hz and 120Hz , consistent with the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPad Pro has supported ProMotion since 2017, but the refresh rate is between 24Hz and 120Hz, and a refresh rate as low as 10Hz will have better power efficiency.
