Samsung Galaxy A53 goes on sale ahead of official announcement

While Samsung is gearing up to announce its new Galaxy A-series phones on March 17, we’ve already seen the Galaxy A53 5G go on sale early in Serbia, and now the phone has hit retailers in Kenya as well. Buyers can pick up the unannounced mid-range phone for 45,500 Kenyan shillings ($400).

Specifications for the Samsung Galaxy A53 include a 6.52-inch display, an Exynos 1200-series chipset, possibly called the Exynos 1280, paired with a 4,500mAh battery.

The camera part includes a 64-megapixel main camera, as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and two 5-megapixel modules for macro shooting and image data analysis. The selfie camera is 32 megapixels. On the software side, it runs One UI 4 based on Android 12, with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

A netizen from Vietnam also posted a full unboxing video of the A53 5G, which means it’s also the first to go on sale there. The phone in the video is the blue version. What’s in the box is just a USB-C cable and SIM ejector pins.
