In addition to the official versions of iOS 15.4 and iPad OS 15.4, Apple also pushed HomePod 15.4 and tvOS 15.4 official version updates early this morning. The former can be used for HomePod and HomePod mini.
HomePod has learned that HomePod v15.4 allows HomePod to connect to wireless LANs such as hotels or dormitories that require additional steps to log in, and adds Siri voice recognition support for Dutch (Belgium, Netherlands) and French (Belgium). This update also includes performance and stability improvements and is 467.7 MB in size.
Likewise, the tvOS 15.4 update adds support for dedicated Wi-Fi networks, which means that an iPhone or iPad can be used to connect an Apple TV to networks that require an extra sign-in step, such as in a hotel room.
tvOS 15.4 introduces the “Up Next” queue directly in the video player, making it easier to switch from one show to another while watching TV, plus it includes a new volume button for use in the video player, plus “click to navigate” has returned as an accessibility option, and the spatial audio controls have been redesigned.
tvOS 15.4 also allows users to use the Apple Watch to purchase content on the Apple TV and adds the ability to display the HomeKit camera in picture-in-picture mode while watching TV.
