Lost Ark proved in a very short time a new success for Amazon Games and Smilegate, but the management of an MMORPG that has reached millions of active players in a short time can be problematic, as evidenced by the case of the mass bans that seem to have struck for I’m also mistaken for innocent players with hundreds of hours of gameplay under their belt.
It is not easy to understand precisely how things are, also because we rely on the reports of the affected users and these clearly may not be truthful, but considering that some of these bans were later corrected and many of these occurred at the same time and in similar conditions, it is possible that it was a series of errors in the game control automatisms.
The reports are reported in the official Lost Ark forum and it is particularly striking that many of the players who found themselves involved in the mass ban are users particularly dedicated to the MMORPG, so much so that they have already spent hundreds of hours over it, which is not easy considering that Lost Ark has been available for just over a month.
It is possible that, precisely because of this extreme dedication, the most committed players have been mistaken for bots, given that these seem to be the main objective of this first wave of bans carried out by Smilegate and Amazon Games to rebalance the situation inside the game.
In the meantime, we learned from the developers that Lost Ark will catch up with the Korean version “quickly”, while the number of players exceeds 20 million within one month of launch.
