As expected, Samsung officially presented its two new A-series devices, the Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G, this Thursday. The mid-range devices should score with a long-lasting battery, a new processor and 5G connectivity, and Samsung’s One UI 4.1 is also on board as an interface for Android 12.
The Galaxy A53 5G uses a quad-camera system with a 64 MP OIS camera. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. The processor for the device’s camera is based on the 5 nm process. Compared to the previous model, the night mode is said to have been improved and now combines up to 12 images for better recordings. Portrait mode has also been updated.
If the sunlight is too strong, an intelligent algorithm in the new A models should ensure that the display is easier to see. The Super AMOLED display of the Galaxy A53 5G measures 6.5 inches and achieves a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Galaxy A33 5G has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 90 Hz. The battery in both models has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and can be charged with a “25-watt super fast charging function”.
Both devices are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and IP certification according to the IP67 standard. A charger will no longer be included with the new models as a cost-cutting measure by the manufacturer. The packaging has also been downsized. Both new devices offer up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades, as well as security updates for up to five years.

Customers who pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy A53 5G from March 17 to 31, 2022 in the Samsung online shop can redeem an old device for an exchange bonus of more than 50 euros plus an old device value of up to 180 euros, as well as the Galaxy Buds Live White for free – encore, look forward. The Galaxy A53 5G will be available from April 1st in the Samsung online shop and in German retailers.
The Galaxy A33 5G will also be available in the Samsung online shop and in German retailers from April 22, 2022. A new Onyx color of the Galaxy Buds2 and Buds Live will also be available in April, complementing the design of the Galaxy A series. The new color variant will be available for 149 euros each (exclusively online).
