Google sent Android 13 into its first Developer Preview in February, which is a version geared more towards developers. The new Android version, which is probably called Tiramisu internally, should appear as the final version in late summer.

Android 13 comes in April as a beta

Yesterday there was the second developer preview and this year only two such previews are planned because Google is sticking to it and would like to publish the first beta in April, which all users can then install.

Normally, the first beta always comes in May after the Google I/O and since the Google event will take place in May again this year , I’m surprised. Because Google is actually showing the final innovations at the event.

Android 13 Preview 2 in video

In any case, the second preview of Android 13 brings some innovations, such as a note for apps that you have to agree to if you want to continue receiving notifications. If you know that from iOS, I actually think it’s good.

Of course, the focus is on innovations for developers, which is why the post can also be found in the developer blog for Android. But here is a video that deals with the innovations. Google has not yet announced a date for the beta.
