After the word-of-mouth and sales losses of WWE 2K20, many players are very worried about the prospects of the series. However, after a one-year hiatus, the relaunched WWE 2K22 appears to be off to a very good start, with more than twice as many initial sales as its predecessor.
Visual Concept’s new wrestling title was the second-best-selling downloadable game in the UK last week, following the smash hit Ayrden’s Ring, with its first digital release outselling WWE 2K20 by 390%.
Combining digital and physical sales, the game more than tripled its launch sales in 2019, and we didn’t wait until WWE 2K21 in between. 72% of WWE 2K22 ‘s first launch sales were digital, which is more than 30% higher than the first digital version of WWE 2K20.
WWE 2K22 launches on March 11, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
