Among the major innovations, there is obviously the support for the addition of the pass and new content: in addition to the additional tracks, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been updated to support the Pass Additional Routes even by those who have not purchased the package.

As previously reported: if someone in the lobby has the Additional Paths Pass, all players in the lobby can select the paths in question in the Friends, Wireless Play and LAN Party game modes, with the ability to select new tracks starting from March 21 in the online game.

Other changes include a reduction in the time required to regenerate an item box on the track after it has been picked up by a player and fixed some communication issues in 12-player matches. In addition, some bugs have been fixed and the gameplay experience improved, according to what is reported in the notes without going into much detail.
