Google Photos: These are the new features

Google Photos gets innovations. Google calls it spring cleaning — to make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for, update the layout to show a grid (or list) that you can quickly filter by type (albums, shared albums, favorites, device folders) and then sort.

Below the album grid, in addition to Locked Folders, Utilities, Archive, and Trash, a new “Import Photos” section is added, which allows users to copy photos from other services, digitize photos (or videos and films), or move photos from a camera.

The releases have also been simplified. Google says the clearer sections make it easier to find, view, and manage shared photos and videos. These sharing tab updates will be rolling out to Android starting this week, and soon to iOS.

Screenshot makers also get an innovation. You can activate or deactivate the online storage of these anyway. However, there will soon be a practical quick access function in the user interface so that you can find it quickly:

Coming soon to Android when users view a screenshot, a carousel of contextual suggestions for copying text, cropping, searching with Google Lens, and more will appear.
