Last year, Google’s development team redesigned the Google TV app to allow users to browse movies and shows from their favorite streaming apps from one place and discover new content to watch through a system of advice based on what they have shown they like.
The next evolutionary step of the Google TV app is scheduled for May when this application will become the place chosen by the Mountain View giant to allow users to buy, rent and watch movies and programs on their mobile devices or Android tablets and this is when the Movies and TV section will be removed from Google Play.
From May, another novelty for the Google TV app for Android
In practice, starting from May Google Play will be the platform in which Android users will be able to find the applications, games, or books they want while it will be necessary to take advantage of the Google TV app to have access to various films and programs, all with an ‘experience which, again according to the Mountain View giant, will be the same already guaranteed by the Film and TV section of Google Play (with the latest news, the possibility to rent, offers and the recommended content system).
The Google team is keen to point out that purchased content will continue to be available in the Google TV app and can be shared with the family. The application will also support the Google Play Points system and will allow you to use Play credit and Play gift cards, access your wish list and request any refunds.
