According to Status PRO, the NFL VR game is designed to recreate what it’s like to step onto the field and give fans the real feeling of being transformed into a professional athlete. Joe Ruggiero, NFL senior vice president of consumer products, said VR gaming is expanding rapidly, and the team’s partnership with StatusPRO enables the league to explore new immersive NFL gaming modes by logging onto two of the largest VR platforms in this emerging space.

The league wants to see more and more fans interacting together through VR, and the NFL is excited to launch its first VR game, expanding the league’s existing offerings in the market today.

Founded in 2020 by former rugby players Andrew Hawkins and Troy Jones, Status PRO combines training data with VR technology to serve rugby coaches, players and fans. The studio is known for creating the “Lamar Jackson” experience, which allows players to wear the shoes of the athlete Lamar Jackson and recreate the best moments on the field.
