The previously suspended Stalker 2 will be transferred to the Czech Republic to continue development

GSC Game World, the developer of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, is reportedly moving some of its studios to the Czech Republic and resuming operations. Earlier this week, Czech journalist Pavel Dobrovsky first tweeted a report that GSC Game World was moving some of its studios to the Czech Republic. Later, Czech site Vortex confirmed that was indeed the case, and the studio will continue to relocate for the foreseeable future.

In early March, due to the turmoil caused by the war, GSC Game World announced that the development of Stalker 2 would be put on hold for the time being, and they were “working hard to help employees and their families survive.” But it also assured Stalker fans that development on the sequel will continue. It now appears that the development of Stalker 2 will resume faster than expected.

Citing the chairman of the Czech Game Developers Association, Pavel Barák, Vortex confirmed that GSC Game World is inquiring about the relocation.

Pavel Barák said: I can confirm that the association was approached by the GSC studio earlier last week, saying they were looking at the Czech Republic and surrounding countries. They need our help with legal and employment issues.

Ashborne Games, based in Brno, Czech Republic, also revealed to Vortex that they have been in contact with developers at GSC about a possible move. Czech studio CBD Software also confirmed that they had provided GSC’s business development manager with advice on how to start a company in the Czech Republic.
