Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.52 involved not only PC, console and Google Stadia users but also Steam Deck owners, with specific graphics, presets for the hardware and software ecosystem of Valve’s portable console. However, the new presets don’t work as they should due to a bug.

Upon reporting by Steam Deck buyers who are playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Valve’s new platform, the YouTuber Gaming on Linux has conducted tests and confirmed when it emerged from user feedback.

After installing update 1.52, the CP2077 graphics options menu for Deck is modified to invite users to select the three presets Low, Medium or High: regardless of the choice made, closing and restarting the game. the latter does not maintain the chosen graphic preset but automatically scales the graphics to higher values, with intermediate parameters between the High and Ultra ones of the PC version.

The bug that emerged, consequently, forces Steam Deck owners to intervene every time on the graphics settings to avoid playing at an average framerate of 22fps and encountering sudden stuttering and crashes. Waiting to understand when the corrective update for this annoying bug will be available, we leave you in the company of our special on how Cyberpunk 2077 runs on PS5 with the nextgen patch.
