Fitbit continues to operate under the Google flag as before. This leaves those waiting for a Wear OS watch disappointed. In the coming days, Fitbit will present more new smartwatches. However, it is noticeable that more than a year after the takeover by Google, there is still no change to Wear OS. That wasn’t to be expected for the entire portfolio anyway, but at least for a few devices. So far, however, nothing can be seen from Wear OS.
Versa, Sense and Luxe will soon be relaunched. A look at the source codes of the Fitbit applications reveals this. What these source codes also reveal, however, are the missing traces of Wear OS. Despite last year’s announcement of the intention to bring Fitbit smartwatches for the premium segment with Wear OS, nothing has been heard since then.
The still-missing ideas and hints keep us waiting. The next Google I/O is coming up in May, maybe there will be news then. There, last year, Google presented the Wear OS reboot with Samsung as a partner and Fitbit as a new Google brand.
