Google Calendar Update: Saves users time confirming back and forth for meeting schedules

In a recent update to Google Calendar, it is expected to save users the time of back-and-forth confirmation when booking and scheduling meetings. On Friday, Google said users will soon be able to create a “booking page” that can be forwarded to other attendees. Multiple times you plan to meet can be displayed on this page, and other users can choose accordingly.

Google Workspace users will soon be able to select “Appointment Scheduled” from the “Create” appointment button. This will launch a user interface that can be used to create an appointment web page. Workspace users highlight when they’d like to have a meeting, then enter an appointment time and location (or Google Room), and add a title and description.

Once everything is filled out, Calendar will generate an “appointment page” hosted by Google, and the creator can send the URL to others. Others can then easily select a time and add the meeting to their calendar. Previously, if both users were in the same Workspace org, you could use a similar time slot feature, but now you can show the time slot UI to anyone you want, even users who don’t have a Google account.

Creators of booking pages will need to use at least the Business Standard version of Google Workspace. The lower Business Starter tier is still paid, but it doesn’t get these fancy new features. The feature should roll out to everyone by April 9th. Once you have it, just load up the web version of Google Calendar, click the “Create” button, and select “Appointment Scheduled”.
