We are used to knowing a little about all smartphones before the official presentation: and the rule, if possible, is even more valid for the Pixels, which over the years have been the protagonists of widely anticipated leaks. It is no coincidence that we have been talking about Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro for a while. But the launch of the next generation of Mountain View smartphones is still far away, and in between, there is still a product that has to arrive on the market.
We are talking about Pixel 6a, whose debut is scheduled for the end of May, during the Google I / O where the Pixel Watch should also be unveiled. At launch, therefore, there is not much missing and it is normal that the flow of news on the smartphone returns to be activated.
NO SURPRISE
And today is the time for a possible confirmation on the design, with which we had already become familiar last November when the first renders appeared. It is not yet time for unboxing: the first (alleged) real photo of Pixel 6a, published by Techxine, does not portray the real smartphone, but its box.
That is enough, however, to ascertain that the lines are exactly those expected: Pixel 6a will be in all respects similar to its older brothers, who on the other hand have just introduced an important restyling. No surprise, especially considering that Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro should also remain “true to the lines”, with very few differences compared to the current generation.
In this case, we see Pixel 6a in black color, with the characteristic horizontal band of the two rear cameras (they should be a Sony IMX363 and a Sony IMX386, both 12 MP) to give identity to the back. Too bad we haven’t seen another shade, also because the double color enhances this type of design: who knows if there will be other colors, and maybe at least an exclusive combination of Google Pixel 6a. On this front, at the moment, there are no indiscretions. On the other hand, there are a few doubts about the key points of the datasheet: for convenience, below we report the specifications provided by the rumors.
