Office for iOS will soon support offline editing of OneDrive document files

Microsoft has released the latest preview update for the Office Mobile app on iOS. Version 2.60 (build 22032900) brings two notable feature changes: improved PDF support and offline editing of files stored in OneDrive. The Office Mobile app on iOS now offers an improved user experience for PDF files.

After installing version 2.60, users will be able to use the create button at the bottom of the screen to complete the PDF production commonly used in the workplace. Click the button with the plus icon, select PDF, and then select one of the available options, Scan PDF, Convert Image to PDF, or Convert File to PDF.

Another big change in version 2.60 is improved integration with the OneDrive app. The latest update allows editing files stored in OneDrive while offline. If a file is marked as “available offline” in the OneDrive app, it can be opened in the Office for iOS app to make the necessary changes, and saved for future uploads.

Office 2.60 for iOS is currently available to Office Insiders, with a preview build accessible in the TestFlight app. You can try to join the program using this link:

Unfortunately, Microsoft is currently not accepting new testers due to the limited number of participants (TestFlight does not allow more than 10,000 testers per app). We can expect Microsoft to release Office 2.60 on the Stable channel in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, version 2.59 is available in the App Store via this link:
