WhatsApp: Another news: this time it’s up to unsaved contacts

Another beta for Android of WhatsApp, another news coming soon. Version 2.22.8.1 of the app for the green robot, in fact, includes new options for interacting with a particular type of contacts, that is, those that appear in a message and that we have not yet saved in the address book.

Currently WhatsApp, on the stable channel (and also on the beta one until this last update), moves the interactions with these numbers externally, delegating them to the system and bringing the user directly to the dialer. From there you can then choose whether to call that number and save it.

But now things work differently: as noted by the usual WaBetaInfo and visible in the screenshot below, by touching an unsaved number contained in a chat bubble, with the new beta a menu has never seen before appears.

There are actually two possible menus. The first provides only two entries, the one relating to the call and the one to add it to the address book, and will be displayed if the number in question is not associated with a WhatsApp account. Otherwise, however, the options will be three, with the addition of the one to directly start a chat in the app with the number in question.

Currently, the distribution of this novelty is still limited to a small number of users: as usual, the audience will be gradually extended. And then it will be the turn of the release on the stable version: on the timing for the entire process to be completed (which are additional variables of addition), however, we cannot unbalance ourselves.
