Tesla just reported its car production and delivery numbers for the first quarter of 2022. Tesla delivered more than 310,000 vehicles in the first quarter and produced 305,400 vehicles in the first quarter. In the same period last year, Tesla produced 180,338 vehicles and delivered 184,800 vehicles. Analysts expect Tesla to deliver 317,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022.

Tesla, along with the rest of the auto industry, has also been hit by widespread parts shortages and inflation. Key components such as semiconductors are still in short supply, and in the U.S., Tesla’s delivery orders are months away.

Tesla recently opened a new factory in Brandenburg, Germany, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 22. Tesla is also planning a grand opening and a “cyber rodeo” on April 7 at another new auto assembly plant it is building.

Tesla officially moved its headquarters to Austin on Dec. 1, but still operates its first electric vehicle factory in Fremont, California.

Globally, Tesla’s operations in the quarter ended March 31 were affected by the coronavirus, with the Shanghai plant temporarily shutting down. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Tesla delivered 308,600 electric vehicles, a record for the company.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned in mid-March that Tesla’s business was facing inflationary pressures and raised the price of its cars in the U.S. and China.
