Honor 70 will give new life to Snapdragon 7 series chipsets

We have seen how Qualcomm’s mid-range range, the Snapdragon 7 series, does not yet have a successor for 2022 but it seems that things can change with the new Honor 70. In fact, from a leak we learn the possibility that Honor’s Number series points to debut with the new hardware solution of the American manufacturer: will it be the right choice?

Honor 70, what will the Snapdragon 7 series chipset be called? Meanwhile, the specifications of the Cores pop up

Talking about the new Qualcomm SoC is Twitter leaker Teme, who explains that the Honor 70 series should be the first to embrace a new hardware solution of this type, which would confirm the trend that the brand wanted to give to the series “of half “of its catalog.

Unfortunately, we do not know the name of this chipset, but the insider wanted to share, also assisted by the leak of Digital Chat Station which, however, speaks only of the configuration and does not mention the company.

It seems that for the new Snapdragon 7 we will find an Octa-Core solution with 4 Core Cortex-A710 and 4 Core Cortex-A510, whose clock frequency is not yet known. To this, let’s add the Adreno 662 GPU. It is not clear if we will have an SoC with a 5 nm or even 4 nm production process, but the hope is that there is a solution of the first type produced by TSMC, given the not brilliant results of those produced by Samsung. The fear is that we can then go to the end of the Snapdragon 780, unfortunately not produced in a prolific way.

Beyond the configuration we have just seen, the Honor 70 could be a further confirmation from the brand in terms of photographic quality and also in terms of display, but for now, we have nothing but some concept renders released close to the Honor 60 series.

In any case, what do you think? Is it possible that the new Qualcomm could be called Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, or will it keep the three-digit nomenclature seen until today?
