Microsoft rolls out new Office Build for Windows Beta Insider community

Microsoft continues development work on the Office productivity suite, and recently, the company shipped a new build for the Windows beta tester channel. The April 1 update brings Office to version 15128.20000 for 2204, and this time the focus is on specifically addressing glitches in apps bundled with the suite.

Microsoft says there are three notable fixes for the entire Office suite.

“We fixed an issue with displaying line and fill attributes in SVG files, and when it came to animation timing, that would prevent Record Slides from working, and also fixed a session disconnect from the RDS session host problem,” the company explained.

If you use Microsoft Word regularly, there is also good news for you. This new version is specifically designed to fix a glitch that caused Live Preview to use a lower zoom level than it was set to.

In other words, if you had issues with zoom levels in Live Preview before, everything should now work fine in Microsoft Word.

Then, there’s also good news for Excel, this update fixes an issue that caused the app to consume too much memory, and Excel should now run without any performance hit to the device.

There is also a project-specific fix. “We fixed an issue that prevented a Gantt-type view from showing completely; this could happen when a view had a drawing object applied to it,” Microsoft explained.

Note that this is a preview release, so it’s possible that it still has various bugs that haven’t been fixed yet. All of the aforementioned improvements should work on production devices as soon as possible, but for now, they are only available to Insider testers.
