Tesla Model Y electric car is ready to go on sale in Australia, and the sales price of related models outflow. The 2022 Model Y rear-wheel-drive version with a single motor starts at AU $67,990, while the 2022 Model Y high-performance version starts at AU $98,172.
According to reports, Tesla will also sell a long-range version of the Model Y with dual motors in the Australian market. However, the price of the Model Y long-range version has not been confirmed.
A visit to Tesla Australia’s official website shows that the company has yet to officially announce a price or delivery date for the Tesla Model Y. The Model Y page on the website says “stay updated” and there is no option to order the Model Y electric car.
It is reported that the Model Y electric car sold in the Australian market may come from Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory. The Model Y is fast becoming Tesla’s best-selling vehicle, outperforming the also-selling Model 3 electric car in several key markets.
The company’s new Gigafactories in Berlin, Germany and Texas, USA have already started production of the Model Y, which shows that this electric SUV is of extraordinary importance to Tesla’s long-term strategy.
