Job ad hints that Bungie may be working on a Destiny animation

A new job ad suggests Bungie may be working on a Destiny animation. The company is currently hiring for a Senior Producer – Linear Media position, requiring candidates to control Destiny’s approval process for all externally developed linear media stories.

The Skills Required section mentions experience with licensed products, animation, scripted TV development or current programming. Candidates are also required to have a solid understanding of Destiny and its world.

This looks like another step Bungie is taking towards a transmedia project. In February, it was reported that League of Legends animation director Derick Tsai has now joined Bungie as development lead for Destiny Universe Transmedia.

According to his LinkedIn bio, his responsibilities include “leading projects and telling stories that will expand the Destiny IP to new media formats including film, TV, animation, books, comics and audio.”

Bungie was recently acquired by Sony for $3.6 billion, and Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki also confirmed that Bungie is developing a new IP, and the company plans to leverage Bungie’s expertise in instant services.
