Chrome 100.0.4896.88 released

Google has released the Chrome browser in version 100.0.4896.88 for Windows, macOS and Linux. A security update that, according to Google, closes 11 vulnerabilities, 8 of them have the severity “High”.

Access to error details is not available until the majority of users are provided with a correction version – a common procedure. Google will also keep restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library on which other projects depend in a similar way, but which have not yet been fixed.

You can either update manually or wait for Chrome to notify you of a new version in the menu. You do that quite charmingly only by a green button – and if you then do not update for a long time, it turns red.

Presumably, other browsers with the same browser engine – including Microsoft Edge – will soon have to update as well, provided that the vulnerabilities were not only found in Google components.
