Communities continue to take shape in WhatsApp Beta for Android

Let’s go back to talking about the Communities, a feature first spotted in version of WhatsApp Beta for Android, and on which it seems that the WhatsApp development team is constantly working.

A few weeks ago we told you about the tab (tab) dedicated to the Communities, whose presence was found within the version released to the beta testers of the messaging app. Today comes more news in this regard.

WhatsApp Beta work continues for the Communities

With the latest update of WhatsApp Beta, the Communities continue to take shape: as found within the version of WhatsApp Beta for iOS, also on the Android counterpart the new functionality continues to evolve.

The specialized portal WaBetaInfo has in fact shared the details on how the new tab dedicated to the Communities will look, whose connection, as already seen for iOS, will take the place of the connection to the camera (on the far left in the chat, status and call bar).

This confirms that the development team is seriously working to introduce the new feature as soon as possible, although the final version of the Communities may look a little different.

From the screenshot, you can appreciate what the purpose of the Communities will be: they will group together the groups connected to each other, and all the Communities of a user will be shown in the new special tab, called Community Home.

It is not yet clear what these new “communities” will offer in particular; at the moment, it is only known that they will allow administrators to send a message at the same time to all members of a Community.

The feature is still under development, so it won’t be available even to beta testers running WhatsApp Beta version Surely in the coming weeks, more details will emerge about the Communities.

How to download the latest beta version of the app

Although it does not allow you to preview the Communities, you can still download the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for smartphones based on Google’s Android operating system, through the Google Play Store, by subscribing to the Beta Program (you can find the page dedicated to the program by following this link).

If the Beta Program is temporarily complete, it would still be possible to preview the latest versions of WhatsApp Beta, proceeding with the manual installation of the related APK files, downloadable from the APK Mirror portal (whose dedicated page can be reached by following this link).
