The vulnerability is estimated to be a high-severity zero-day vulnerability, and there is already evidence that it was exploited by hackers. once executed, it can cause the browser to crash or trigger an error, which has the potential to allow arbitrary code to be executed.

Google said it knew that the vulnerability in CVE-202201364 had been exploited by hackers, which was also a factor contributing to the rapid creation of a fix. Google did not provide clear details of the vulnerability, saying instead that it was restricting access to that information until “most users are updated.”
