According to the latest report, Apple Maps in Apple iOS 14 introduced a feature is cycling routes to help cyclists find the best route with bike lanes. Now, Apple has expanded its cycling routes in its Maps app to users in Chicago, Detroit, and other Midwestern cities.

As Justin O’Beirne points out, the update began quietly rolling out to users on April 15. Apple Maps now shows cycling routes for Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Charleston.

As Apple describes, the feature not only offers the best cycling routes but also shows details such as altitude and how busy the roads are, as well as options to avoid hillside routes. Cycling routes on Apple Maps are available in California, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, London, and the Chinese mainland.

In the Maps app, users can get detailed riding routes. the map provides directions for cycling-friendly roads if any. users can preview the altitude of the ride, check how busy the roads are, and choose the route that best avoids the hills. when following its own route, the map says a specific direction for the ride to make turns and moves.

According to O’Beirne’s website, the feature was extended to parts of the northeastern United States earlier this month. O’Beirne also believes that Texas and the Gulf Coast will be the next region to get a ride on Apple Maps.

With this latest update, Apple Maps now offers cycling routes to nearly 26 percent of the U.S., covering nearly 52 percent of the country’s population.
