In the first quarter of 2022 earnings, Samsung confirmed that it will launch a new generation of foldable phones later in 2022. A Samsung representative said on the conference call: “we are currently fully prepared for the new foldable model planned for launch in the second half of the year.”
Kim Sung-Koo, Samsung’s vice president of the mobile business, added that the company wants to make the foldable phone “another major business in our business after the Galaxy S series.” The company will also focus on ensuring that new foldable models are not affected by supply chain woes when they launch.
