This evening, Xiaomi officially released the “MIUI system version adjustment announcement” and said that MIUI has released a total of 545 development versions in the past 12 years. In order to bring you a better experience, Xiaomi will upgrade the MIUI development model:
- Starting with THE ANDROID 13-based MIUI, MIUI will focus on the “development version” and the “official version”;
- The MIUI development version will continue to be updated weekly, and the official version will be released based on user usage. We will test new features through development, collect user feedback, and work with users to make MIUI better. These results will eventually be officially released to all users through the official version.
- the development and production versions will gradually switch between versions without clearing data.
AFTER THE MIUI DEVELOPMENT MODEL IS UPGRADED, THE USER EXPERIENCE OF EACH VERSION CHANGES AS FOLLOWS:
- Users currently using the MIUI development version of the internal beta, when receiving the MIUI based on Android 13 and upgrading, will automatically switch to the new “development version”, without clearing the data;
- Users currently using the MIUI development version public beta, when upgraded to the Android 13-based development version, will automatically switch to the new “development version”, without clearing the data;
- Users currently using the stable version of MIUI will automatically switch to “production” when they receive MIUI based on Android 13 and upgrade it, without clearing data.
Xiaomi said that new features and optimizations will be released as a development version first, iteratively updating the product experience, and then releasing them as an official version after the function and stability are reliable.
The new development version will recruit more users who actively participate in the co-construction, and the internal test score will also be adjusted with the development version to join the Xiaomi community growth system. Xiaomi will issue the “Development Edition Internal Testing Commemorative Virtual Medal” to the users of the development version who have been supporting MIUI.
