Google will build its largest office campus outside of its US headquarters in India

Google India head and vice president Sanjay Gupta pointed out that since Google launched its business in India, Hyderabad has been one of Google’s largest staff bases. It’s the company’s largest campus outside of Mountain View, its U.S. headquarters.

Google says that once put into operation, it will provide a healthy, collaborative workplace for high-tech employees that is both resilient and adaptable, designed to serve the city for years to come. the company also unveiled the design of a 7.3-acre campus it acquired in 2019.

Shortly after launching the ground-floor development of the building in Gachibowli with IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao and IT Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Sanjay Gupta told the media that the new campus could accommodate thousands of people in the coming years as India and Google grew.

According to reports, Google’s new India campus covers an area of 3 million square feet, located in Gachibowli, the information technology cluster in Hyderabad. The park was initially planned to be a 2 million square meter facility with an investment of INR 10 billion.

In 2015, when Rama Rao visited the company’s headquarters in California, the Telangana government signed an agreement with Google. Google currently operates in a rental facility in Kondapur, Hyderabad, with about 7,000 employees. The number of employees is likely to nearly double when the new campus is completed.
