Android Auto: Update to version 7.6 brings bug fixes and improvements, but no Coolwalk design yet

Major innovations are just around the corner on Google’s Android Auto infotainment platform, with many users expecting the revamped interface in the “Coolwalk” design in particular. Now Google may be paving the way for this update because the new version has been rolled out to all users since yesterday. This has a lot of bug fixes in its luggage that should free users from problems.

Android Auto doesn’t get updated quite as frequently, although sometimes it would do the platform a whole lot better. Because the platform should not only be optimized in terms of design and functionality but also the recurring problems related to stability or the Google Assistant can be very annoying if used frequently. The latter is now being tackled with a large sweeping blow that eliminates numerous problems.

Android Auto version 7.6 has been rolled out via the Google Play Store since yesterday and should be available to all users within a few days. The description states that problems with the Google Assistant, music playback, Spotify and the connection between the smartphone and the infotainment display have been fixed. On the other hand, there is also a list of other problems that have not yet been fixed.

Unfortunately, nothing from the cool walk design or other functional improvements is yet to be done, but this might be unlocked server-side after the update. With Google I/O coming up, it could be a perfect time to announce this new interface. It is also possible that hobbyists can now activate it and try it out extensively, we will keep you posted.
