Some players are having issues accessing Cloud Gaming, subscribing, purchasing, etc. on their Xbox consoles. Microsoft has confirmed that the platform is having some issues with the cloud capabilities it offers Xbox Network users.
According to the information shown on the Xbox support site, there were issues with the Store and subscriptions, cloud gaming and remote play, and even the core “Games and gaming” section.
- This is a strong indication that players may not even be able to start their game session. Some issues that gamers may face:
- Proprietary games, Game Pass games, and backward compatible games cannot be purchased.
- Unable to purchase subscriptions or accessories.
- Now facing the hassle of making purchases with a credit card.
- Unable to access existing account balance to make purchases.
- In-game purchases may fail.
It seems that many gamers don’t even have access to their accounts. Any attempt will obviously get the dreaded “connection failed” error. Basically, the issues plaguing the Xbox platform seem to be affecting all types of devices, and players wanting to use their Xbox account or service. In other words, console gamers and those using a web browser to access the Xbox Cloud Gaming service could face issues.
