Riot Games filed a lawsuit against Shanghai Mutong Technology, accusing the latter of plagiarizing the League of Legends mobile game (Wild Rift). Riot Games said that Mutong Technology’s “Mobile Legends: Bang Bang” copied content and promotional materials from the “League of Legends” series. Endless Showdown has been downloaded more than 500 million times on Android.
“Mutong Technology used a plagiarism strategy to develop and market its own mobile game “Endless Showdown”, which used Riot Games’ own extensive and expressive content in “League of Legends Mobile” as well as trailers and promotional materials.
And other content to compete with League of Legends Mobile,” Riot Games said in a complaint filed Monday in federal court in Los Angeles, “and Mutong’s conduct infringes copyright.”
