Microsoft issued a reminder as early as February that Windows 10 version 20H2 will stop supporting today (May 10, 2022), this version is also known as Windows 10 October 2020 Update, which began to be widely pushed in September of the same year.

Windows 10 20H2 includes a ton of new features, including changes to the Start menu and taskbar, improved notifications, and an enhanced tablet experience. It’s also the first version of Windows 10 to ship with the Chromium-based Edge browser, which has now reached the end of its service.

This means that PCs running this version of Windows 10 will no longer receive any security updates, and customers who contact Microsoft for support will be instructed to update to a supported OS version.

The following SKUs will be affected:

Windows 10 20H2 for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise Editions will continue to be supported until May 9, 2023. Those who are still running this Windows 10 version recommend that you upgrade to the new version as soon as possible, otherwise you will be vulnerable to malware attacks.

There’s a good chance you’re already running an updated version, though, because back in January, Microsoft said it would force eligible PCs running Windows 10 20H2 to update to 21H2 to train its machine learning models.
