In this simple guide, in fact, we will explain the few and simple steps that are needed to get the MIUI 13 widgets on any previous version of MIUI. All without needing root privileges or performing risky procedures that invalidate the smartphone warranty. This new guide is added to the one we proposed a few months ago to remove (or add) the watermark from photos on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones.
Why are the widgets of MIUI 13
Before moving on to the actual guide, let’s make a quick introduction on why it might be worthwhile to implement it to take advantage of the MIUI 13 widgets on your device.
As we had explained to you both at the launch of MIUI 13 and at the beginning of the rollout, the widgets are one of the most evident innovations of the new version and, in spite of a stylistic similarity with those of iOS undoubtedly evident, they cannot be denied the steps forward made by Xiaomi with the new implementation of this function.
Versatility and customization possibilities are two other advantages that should not be underestimated: widgets can be inserted into the home in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they can be used to access information from a wide variety of sources – such as weather, news, calendar – and you can even download add-on packages to expand your choice.
How to get MIUI 13 widgets on all MIUI versions
If the reasons just explained were enough to convince you or you were already curious, let’s get to work immediately. Know that, for the purpose of the guide, you will have to download some applications, install them very simply, open the launcher and choose the widgets you like among those available. Let’s see in more detail how to proceed.
Download and install the necessary apps
First of all, therefore, let’s see how to download and install the applications you need to get the MIUI 13 widgets. There are four in total and one of them is also available on the Google Play Store, of all you can find the links below. MIUI 13 widgets download process will be dealt with directly by MIUI. - Download MIUI 13 Launcher (The latest version of MIUI Alpha Launcher)
- Download MIUI 13 App Vault (MIUI 13 app vault APK)
- Download MIUI 13 Weather (MIUI 13 weather widget APK)
- Download Activity Launcher from the Google Play Store
While the latter is installed like all the apps that you usually download from the Play Store, for the first three you have to proceed manually: open File Manager or any other file manager you usually use (the one visible in the screenshot is Google Files ), go to Download section, tap the icon of each APK and then Install.
Steps regarding Activity Launcher
At this point, you need to grant the Activity Launcher app the necessary permission. Locate the app icon, long-press, and tap the ” i ” icon to enter Application Information. Under Permissions, open Other permissions, tap Home screen shortcuts and select Always.
Once this is done, open the Activity Launcher app, tap the search icon and type PickerHomeActivity . Once you have found the item in question (it belongs to App Assistant), touch the three-dot menu and then Create a shortcut.
MIUI 13 Widgets Picker is ready to be used
