Huawei shows new Health App – including subscription to fitness service

Smartphones aren’t doing so well at Huawei anymore, so other areas are currently being expanded. Wearables are currently a category that is going down very well, which is why there are always new models from Huawei to be seen.

New health app and service

The wearables are based on the health app for Android and iOS, which will soon be available in a new version with a new design. The beta is currently being tested, and the final version of the new health app will start on June 30 in Germany.

An important part is a new fitness service called Huawei Health+, which you can use for a month for free if you use the app or own a Huawei wearable. Wearables will soon have three months free of charge.

Huawei Health+ costs 7.99 euros per month or 59.99 euros per year. The subscription includes workouts with voice output, 3D dynamic tracking when running with GPS, a calorie tracker with a nutrition plan, help with intermittent fasting, better sleep analysis, breathing exercises and wellness features.

If I understood the press release correctly, then the iOS version of the new health app won’t be available until July 30 (like Huawei Health+).

Huawei is looking for revenue streams

Anyway, fitness services aren’t a bad idea and can be lucrative, which would help Huawei. It was noticed at today’s event that there is a new focus at Huawei, the smartphones are now almost forgotten.

Anyway, the idea of launching a service built on top of Huawei’s most popular category at the moment isn’t a bad one. More details about Huawei Health are available from Huawei, but the information about Health+ is not yet online.
