Fallout London: Here’s the first gameplay video of the ambitious Fallout 4 mod

The authors of Fallout London a few hours ago presented the first gameplay video of this ambitious Fallout 4 mod, a project that aims to integrate new content and an unprecedented location into the game for a package as rich as a canonical major DLC.

The full-bodied footage begins with an introductory video explaining how London has changed after the Nuclear Holocaust that hit the world of Fallout. Subsequently, the protagonist is awakened in a sort of research facility. After the choice of the character’s features and the initial perks, the movie offers a taste of the opening lines of Fallout London with exploration phases and dialogues, all fully voiced by the way.

In general, the video shows that the care behind the mod is really high, it is no coincidence that the lead writer was hired by Bethesda, which is far from obvious since we are talking about a project that will be made available for free.

As the name suggests, Fallout London is a mod/expansion set in London, therefore a setting rather far from the classic American ones of the series. This allowed developers to explore different cultures that developed differently after the nuclear catastrophe. The mod is set in 2237, straddling Fallout 1 and 2.

There are some iconic London locations, such as Westminster, home to many historic buildings and the British Parliament, and the boroughs of Bromley and Hackney.

For the moment Fallout: London does not have a release date yet, but the works seem to be proceeding rather well, so the hope is to be able to play it already by the end of the year or at the latest in 2023.
