Twitter is developing an edit button, no one is new to this. But the edit button has its limitations. MSPoweruser reported that Twitter will not replace original tweets with edited ones. Instead, Twitter will display edited tweets below the original tweet. Now MSPoweruser has heard that users will not be able to edit tweets after a period of time.
Reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong found that Twitter notifies users when their time to edit a tweet runs out. This feature is currently under development and it may appear when the edit button becomes available.
In addition to the edit button, Twitter is working on several new features, including the ability to attach photos, videos and GIFs to tweets at the same time, and the ability to pin replies in comments. Additionally, the company will soon give users the option to “un-mention” themselves from a Twitter conversation if the conversation is deemed “toxic.” Microblogging sites will roll out this feature when they are ready.
It’s worth mentioning, however, that Twitter’s edit button is likely aimed at those who subscribe to the Twitter Blue service.
