Google Chrome will be able to directly implement Google Lens image recognition search

Google Lens, a powerful image recognition software, is starting to get less cumbersome when used in the Chrome browser on the desktop. Currently, if you want to use Lens for images on your website, the browser opens a results page in a new tab.

But in the future, browsers will also display results on the panel on the right side of the web page. Chrome will only open a new browser tab if you want to find the source of an image.

The search giant’s image recognition software has long been used on mobile and can be accessed via Google’s app on iOS or a native camera app on some Android phones. But last year, Google Lens made its way to the desktop through the Chrome browser by right-clicking on an image and selecting “Search for images with Google Lens.”

Google Lens is designed to be able to recognize everything from buildings and animals to clothes, plants and works of art. It provides a more intuitive way to find the information you’re looking for online. The feature has great promise, but it often feels like a fun novelty, and Google is working to turn it into a useful tool that makes it easier to use on the desktop and can show its potential.

The new Lens panel is now rolling out to Chrome users. Specific steps on how to access the feature can be found on this support page.
