Face unlock planned for the Google Pixel 6 Pro

Face unlock has repeatedly appeared in the source code of Android over the past few weeks, including in newer versions. In addition, well-informed sources from American colleagues have promised that Google is still planning to introduce face unlock for the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Last but not least, the instructions for the rollout via Android 12 QPR3 were concentrated.

Official footage showed Face-Unlock for Google Pixel 6 Pro in autumn 2021:

Technical details do not allow the feature on the regular Google Pixel 6

For technical reasons, however, the feature is only planned for the Google Pixel 6 Pro. This is related to the slightly more powerful front camera. One can only hope that these differences between the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will no longer exist. It is also conceivable that Google will first bring the new feature with Android 13 and then directly to Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

The combination of several unlock functions is particularly intuitive

But why do I hope for face unlock? In my opinion, it is the perfect combination of face and fingerprint so that your smartphone can be unlocked quickly at any time. I recently noticed a blazingly fast combination with the OnePlus 10 Pro. Since both features run at the same time, the device was almost always unlocked intuitively and instantly in everyday life.
