Sony’s new membership service PlayStation Plus Asian service is launched today (official guide), and Asian regions including Hong Kong will be the first to launch globally.

According to Sony, the PlayStation Plus membership service combines PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now to offer three membership plans to bring more choice and value to customers around the world: Basic, Premium and Premium (premium available in markets that don’t support streaming).

Sony will launch the new PlayStation Plus in most countries where PlayStation Network is available. The following is the service launch schedule (local time):

The key benefits of each plan are shown in the table below:

Existing PlayStation Plus members will be transferred to PlayStation Plus Basic and enjoy the same benefits as current PlayStation Plus, such as PS4 and PS5 monthly games, exclusive discounts, and cloud storage for saving game data, online Multiplayer access rights, etc.

Existing PlayStation Now members will be transferred to PlayStation Plus Premium. The new PlayStation Plus service will continue to update games on a monthly basis, twice a month at the same frequency as PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now.

PlayStation Plus Basic

The PlayStation Plus base plan (and two higher-tier plans) will be the same as the current PlayStation Plus, with a monthly update on the first Tuesday of the month that adds new PS4 and PS5 games to the service.
